If Friday's Olympic opening ceremony taught us anything, it's that James Bond is as important to us Brits as the royal family.

Daniel Craig's surprise appearance meant that our lingering excitement for Skyfall prevented us from truly concentrating on the ensuing celebrations.

Today a precious gift has landed in our 007-hungry hands in the shape of a brand new trailer for Bond's forthcoming return to the big screen.

It showcases the expected mix of guns, girls and gadgets and has us eagerly awaiting its Autumnal release date. Alongside Daniel Craig and Judi Dench, it also stars a blond-haired Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes.

Plus, rumours that the Queen would be recreating "that bikini moment" from Dr.No look to be mercifully untrue...

Skyfall is released in cinemas on October 26th
