New Pacific Rim trailer

"Go big or go extinct" is the half-cool, half-nonsensical tagline offered up by the new trailer for monsters v robots blockbuster Pacific Rim and if that sounds too silly, you might want to look away.

The concept, giant aliens invade earth and come up against robots created by man to destroy them, is a 14-year-old boy's dream and our new look at the film gives us plenty of eye candy.

It comes from director Guillermo Del Toro, best known for Pan's Labyrinth, so we're hoping it stays on the right side of ridiculous.

Although any trailer which has a robot using a boat to fight an alien gets bonus points in our book.

Pacific Rim hits cinemas July 12
