Lonely Island Movie On The Way

Expect boats, dubiously wrapped gifts and a bombardment of A-list comic cameos when you go to the cinema sometime next year.

That’s right, Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccon) are taking on Hollywood with help from Judd Apatow. Deadline are reporting that Apatow will be producing, while Schaffer and Taccon will be on directing duties.

Mirroring real life, the faux rap trio behind such classics as I’m On A Boat and D**k In A Box have sold umpteen records and found fame in their own right since featuring on Saturday Night Live, and while the title and plot is still unknown, we’re expecting another hit here.

Golden Globe winner Samberg is no stranger to the big screen, of course, having starred in cult classic Hot Rod and the not-so-classic That's My Boy. Though next up for the star is a HBO sports tennis mockumentary entitled 7 Days In Hell.

In the meantime, let's enjoy this recent smash from the trio, below, and hope that are no d**ks in boxes of popcorn when the Lonley Island film opens.
