Jimi Hendrix Biopic Trailer Lands

hendrix.jpg

Expect sales of floral shirts to increase exponentially henceforth. The trailer for the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic has arrived.

Andre '3000' Benjamin stars the string-plucking genius in Jimi: All Is By My Side, charting the singer/songwriter’s early career and rise from 1966 backup guitarist in shady New York venues to the bright lights of London where he becomes the genius the world came to adore.

It’s here, set to a backdrop of the Swinging Sixties, where Hendrix also meets Linda Keith (Imogen Poots) and Kathy Etchingham (Hayley Atwell), the women in his life who helped shape his ideas, loves and music - and by the looks of the footage, they have a sizeable part to play.

Along with a stellar cast and the fact Benjamin is no stranger to rock stardom himself, the other reason to be positive about this project is the fact it's both written directed by Oscar-winning writer/director John Ridley of 12 Years A Slave fame.

Watch Benjamin tear it up in the new trailer, below. Dental work be damned.

Jimi: All Is By My Side is out in cinemas from 26 September
