Jessie Eisenberg goes super assassin in the new American Ultra trailer

1.jpg

Move over Bourne. Out of the way Bond. There’s a new breed of super assassin in town, also capable of disarming bad guys with household goods. Oh, and he’s played by Jessie Eisenberg.

You read that right: in the first trailer for action comedy American Ultra, Eisenberg plays a stoner store clerk who suddenly discover he’s actually a highly trained sleeper agent and must use every sinew of his heightened senses to survive as shadowy government forces hunt him down.

With breakneck fight scenes (including one ingenious use of a frying pan), he’s joined for the ride by his girlfriend (Kirsten Stewart, reuniting with Eisenberg for the first time since Adventureland), who seems slightly more worried about her beau’s former past as the man himself does.

Espionage really has gone to pot.

American Ultra hits UK cinemas from 28 August
