Heart-warming trailer for Her

It's a challenge to tell an original romance story. If Shakespeare or a Bronte sister hasn't already covered it, chances are a little-known indie film has painted the 'boy-meets-girl' tale in every conceivable shade of pink.

As such, the originality that leaps from the latest trailer for Her has us inching forward in our seats. As writer Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix) looks to cope with life alone after divorce, he strikes up friendship with an intuitive operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson), designed to meet his every need. As the OS begins to develop its own needs and character, Twombly finds himself embarking on an unlikely relationship.

It's romance for the Apple generation - 2001: A Space Odyssey meets When Harry Met Sally. Here's hoping Google executives don't get any product ideas.

Her arrives in the UK on Valentine's Day
