After much speculation, it's been confirmed that Wonder Woman will appear in the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman.

And she'll be played by Gal Gadot, who you'll probably remember from Fast and Furious 6. No news as yet on whether the character will be a part of the main action, or just an incidental character. Batman Vs. Superman, starring Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, will be out in 2015.

Gadot has beat off rumoured competition from Olga Kurylenko and Elodie Yung.

Deadline has reported Zack Snyder with the following statement:

“Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”

Let the internet fury/delight commence!
