First official picture from Wolverine 2

Now that summer 2012 is out of the way and we've all stopped discussing the endings of Prometheus and The Dark Knight Rises, we can finally make space in our brains for next summer.

We've already seen snippets of Man Of Steel and The Great Gatsby and now we get our very first look at The Wolverine.

The follow-up to the slightly underwhelming X-Men Origins: Wolverine hopes to restore our faith in the sharp-fingered mutant. Hugh Jackman returns and this time, he heads to Japan. Little is known about the plot but apparently he runs into a mysterious figure from his past.

From this early shot, it looks as if we need Jackman's personal trainer. Now.

The Wolverine hits cinemas on July 26th
