The first poster of the forthcoming Macbeth movie has emerged: and Michael Fassbender looks suitably menacing as the eponymous character.

The poster was spotted at the Cannes film festival and tweeted by Gregory Ellwood. It follows hot on the heels of the first images released from the movie, which can be seen below.

Marion Cotillard will be portraying Lady Macbeth; as yet there's still no release date, but we'll keep you up-to-date with all the latest developments.
