First clip of Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix

andre-3000-jimi-hendrix.jpg

It's been a while since we've had a decent music biopic and it seems as if Hollywood execs have been hearing our frustration as there are films about James Brown, Tupac, Nina Simone, Elton John and Jimi Hendrix all on the way.

The latter of which has finally given us a first look at Outkast's Andre 3000 as Hendrix in All Is By My Side, which focuses on his life between 1966 and 1967 and is set in the UK and Ireland. In the clip, we see him flirt with Linda Keith, a model played by Imogen Poots.

The film didn't receive a seal of approval from Hendrix's estate so it won't feature any of his music. Which could be a slight problem...

All Is By My Side hits cinemas August 8
