Evolution of the Best Picture Oscar poster artwork

Spotlight fought off stiff competition to claim the Academy Award for Best Picture (we thought The Revenant had it in a bear hug for sure), adding its name to that ever expanding list of "Films that we wish were on Netflix but probably never will be".

To whet viewer's appetites before the final announcement, the Oscars' official YouTube channel released this short recap of some of the greatest poster artwork to have accompanied those films that have claimed the grand award in previous years. 

No, it's not exhaustive - but it furthers our own belief that there should be some sort of award for movie poster design.
