David Hasselhoff is officially joining the Baywatch movie cast

No, it's not a headline from the late '80s. He’s coming back!

The film reboot of Baywatch has added a serious heavyweight to its casting ranks, in the form of Hollywood megastar (and original Baywatch cast member) David Hasselhoff.

New cast members Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach joined Dwaye Johnson in welcoming The Hoff to their ranks.

Hasselhoff played LA County Lifeguard Mitch Buchannon in the original TV series of Baywatch, producing the series from the nineties until 2001, when the series ended.

Dwayne Johnson also posted that the movie would be like a combination of Avengers and Anchorman. Not sure how you’ll manage that with only sharks and slightly big waves to conquer, but we’re optimistic all the same.

Hopefully, The Hoff makes a lot more of an appearance than a one-off cameo…
