Chris Evans to join The Ten O'Clock People

As he films his second outing as Captain America for next year's sequel, Chris Evans has entered talks to join a very different kind of movie.

The 31-year-old actor is in discussions to take on the lead in the upcoming Stephen King adaptation The Ten O'Clock People. The short story centres on a man who tries to quit smoking with the help of a new drug. Things go from hard to impossible when he realises that many of the most important members of society are actually evil creatures.

The film will be directed by Tom Holland, a genre heavyweight behind the original Fright Night and Child's Play. He's also no stranger to Stephen King, having directed Thinner back in 1996.

Justin Long was originally set to take on the role but a scheduling conflict got in the way. There are also rumours that Rachel Nichols (GI Joe, Criminal Minds) will be starring alongside Evans, if he signs on.

The story was originally in the anthology Nightmares and Dreamscapes.

Evans will next be seen in the much-anticipated sci-fi flick Snowpiercer.
