Battleship trailer hits

bship.jpg

Remember when you played Battleship as a kid and thought, hey this would make a great movie some day? Oh, okay well yeah we didn't do that either but it's an actual thing, whether we wanted it or not.

The game of C4s and D6s has been transformed into one of next year's biggest blockbusters.

Taking some creative license, Hancock director Peter Berg has added a sure-to-be profitable robotic element, along with a cast that includes dad-not-to-be-messed-with Liam Neeson, accomplished actress Rihanna and someone we imagine teenage girls know of called Taylor Kitsch. Covering all bases then.

It looks like it'll be pretty spectacular stuff and we'd better get used to this board games becoming movies thing as Monopoly is still actually happening.

Battleship is out April 20, 2012.
