Batman vs superman will be the most expensive movie ever made

It seems that the cost of pitting two good guy superheroes against each other is far higher than any city-levelling showdown in history.

In fact, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is costing around $410 million (£264 million).

And counting.

That means it could be the first film ever to cost over half a billion dollars - and new behind the scenes pictures from Total Film showcase why the costs are skyrocketing faster than Superman's bullet-speed flybys.

The current record holder for most expensive film ever made is Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which cost $410 million, which the new comic film will almost certainly edge.

But Batman V Superman may not hold the title for all that long. Rumour has it that Avengers: Infinity War has a budget of a billion dollars.

To be fair, the trailer looks brilliant, but even Bruce Wayne’s wallet would take a hit from that amount of cash.
