Ladders. Bowler hats. Carrots.

In the hands of regular folk, these are pretty safe items. In the hands of action heroes of cinema, however, they might as well fire bullets.

Should you need a reminder as to the most inventive and unlikely tools of pain administered by our favourite heroes, here comes the Improbable Weapons Supercut - revisiting the very oddest weapons of cinema (Clive Owen really does kill someone with a carrot in Shoot ‘Em Up, you didn’t dream it).

Ranging from the gentlemanly (Colin Firth’s brolly in Kingsman), the musical (El Machriri guitar case rocket launchers in Desperado), to the downright resourceful (we will never tire of Jason Bourne battering people with biros and rolled up magazines) to Jackie Chan pretty much using everything, it’s quite the ride.

And naturally, The Stath’s Transporter turns up in a few places to offer his own brand of prop-pulverising mayhem.

Because like they say - when life hands you melons, use them to punch someone really hard in the face.
