American Psycho: the musical

American Psycho: the musical
23 April 2012

While many films seem well-suited to a life on the stage, others seem like more of a stretch. So for every Billy Elliot or Sister Act, there's a Spider-Man or, ermmm, Rocky.

Which brings us to American Psycho. The ultra-violent Bret Easton Ellis novel made its way to the screen in the 2000 Christian Bale film and it was a natural fit but, when it comes to a sing-a-long version, we're not so sure.

Not that our scepticism is making any damn difference. Again.

A London theatre company called Headlong have announced a "completely electronic" musical spin on the serial killer satire with a script written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who recently rewrote Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, the plagued Broadway production. Might not be for the best then...

The casting is yet to be announced but who do you think would make a good all-singing Patrick Bateman?
