If you've seen American Gangster already, you'll know that the film contains some of the best performances of both Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe's careers. Telling the true story of drug kingpin, Frank Lucas (Washington) and the law enforcer trying to bring him to justice (Crowe), its 1970s New York backdrop and sharp performances make it one of the best gangster/crime films of the last ten years. Easily. If you haven't - what the hell have you been doing for the last eight years?

Even if strip away the vintage cars, the 70s hair and the ostentatious fur coats you've still got 10 pieces of wisdom you can apply to daily life.

Okay maybe not daily life but they're still pretty great.
