This artist's simple illustrations brutally summarise adulthood

Picasso. Monet. Van Gogh. All great at painting cubes, and water, and themselves without an ear, sure - but could they really hit home with a simultaneously witty and painfully true observation about modern life?

Well 29-year-old DC artist Mari Andrew can. Her Instagram is filled with sketches and doodles that accurately summarise the modern human condition.

"I was sort of depressed and found myself going home just to watch Netflix way more often. I wanted a creative hobby, so I thought illustrating would be an easy, enjoyable way to document little moments from my day,” she told Business Insider.
