Which of These Men is The Greatest Living British Writer?

Stephen King once said that "books are a uniquely portable magic." How right he was. Unfortunately he's not British so we couldn't put him in our list of greatest British writers. We could however put the likes of Salman Rushdie, John La Carre and Phillip Pullman.

All we need is your help to choose who should get the title of ShortList's greatest writer in our 'greatest' issue (our 400th, by the way).
