The Anchorman star crashed a USA fan get together in the Brazilian city of Recife ahead of their game against Group G rivals Germany to announce that he would be playing in the match.
Despite admitting that he was not "in the best shape", he said that he would give everything to the cause, claiming that, like Luis Suarez, he "will bite every German player if I have to".
USA need just a draw to progress to the second round, as do Germany, so if it's all square with half an hour left, don't be surprised to see both teams winding down to help each other out.
Nonetheless, team USA have been whipping up their support, sending out this note on Twitter, 'signed' by coach Jürgen Klinsmann, encouraging employers to let workers off early in order to watch the match.
