Is this Iceland's Loch Ness Monster?

No.

Gloves on and to Iceland, now, where footage has emerged of what appears to be the country's answer to the Loch Ness monster called, catchily, Lagarfljótsormurinn.

According to legend, the monster grew from a magical worm that had been placed in a ring of gold to make it grow. Obvs.

Instead of enlarging the gold, the worm grew into a giant snake and both it and the ring were tossed into the Lagarfljó, where it continued to grow into this.

In fairness it's twenty times better than any footage of our water-dwelling pal. Your move Nessy.
