Iconic Music Videos Recreated In GTA V
03 September 2014

Fans of Grand Theft Auto series will be acutely aware of the depth of music offered from the game between stealing cars and lobbing grenades at random pedestrians. It’s more than a soundtrack to a game, it’s a lifestyle.

And don’t for one second pretend you’ve never jeopardised a mission for an extra blast of whatever classic comes on the in-car radio, elongating a journey so you can stretch out a Phil Collins drum solo. We’ve all done it.

And now the worlds of GTA and popular music have collided again, and in a way we never imagined. 8-bit Bastard - the group behind the recent recreations of Skyfall, Terminator 2 and The Sopranos - have used the sandbox land of Los Santos to recreate some of the best music videos of the last few decades.

Starting with a man who base jumps from a skyscraper in his haste to get back to his house and turn on his TV, we then see him sit down to watch a number of in-game online characters recreate videos from the likes of Lonely Island, Mark Morrison, Justin Timberlake.

Though, quite easily, the two standout efforts are saved for the last - firstly with the backwards ambling of Coldplay’s The Scientist, and the erotic motorcycle riding of Kanye West’s Bound 2.

Be warned, you may not be able to get the images of fake Kim Kardashian out of your head for a while.
