'Neighbours' Ramsay Street house up for sale
24 January 2013

You. Little. Ripper. Mate.

It could be the ultimate home for fans of Neighbours - their very own house on Ramsay Street.

A property on the road made famous by the Australian soap has come up for auction - the first time a Neighbours house has been offered for sale publicly since 1999.

On the small screen, the house is 30 Ramsay St and home to Toadfish "Toadie'' Rebecchi played by Ryan Moloney. If you're anything like us though, you'll remember it from yesteryear. The first time Number 30 was used was when Jim Robinson rented the house for his son Paul and his new wife Terry. Terry shot Paul (obvs) and was sent to prison. Paul then moved back to his family home. The house next appeared when Edith Chubb bought it and moved in with her nieces, Bronwyn (yes, that Bronwyn) and Sharon. Another notable resident of 30 was *gulp* Annalise Hartman.

Anyway... real owner Faye Pierce built the four bedroom property with her husband in 1973 and the couple are planning to downsize.

It was in the mid-1980s that Faye first noticed a man photographing her home.

"Then we got a knock at the door from Grundys to say they were thinking of filming in our road. We all thought it was a bit of fun". She said.

Today, crews take over the road about once a week, while interior scenes are filmed at a studio elsewhere.

Owners are paid by producers FremantleMedia Australia and the new buyer will need to sign a contract agreeing to keep up the garden, avoid changes to the facade without consultation, and provide access to the park at the back, Faye said.

"When I wanted some trees chopped down on my front lawn, they wrote it into one of the scenes,'' she said.
