Edible landscapes

Mountains you can eat

Edible landscapes
14 February 2011

Imagine if the entire world around you was made of food. Sure, you'd get a bit chubby and your clothes would be completely ruined but it would also be undeniably pretty cool.

While it might never happen (Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs was sadly a work of fiction) these cracking images from Canadian-Hungarian artist Eszter Burghardt provide us with a tantalising glance of what might be

Burghardt used food to recreate some of the epic vistas she witnessed in Iceland, including poppy seeds, cocoa powder, coffee, milk, and chocolate cake crumbs. She then captured them with a macro lens to give the illusion of grandeur, despite being small enough to fit on your desk.

While the pics are mightily impressive, we are rather concerned about what happened to all that food once the shoot was over. You know, third world countries and all that. Not thinking about us obviously.

Check out more of her work here.
