Football Book Clubs
31 October 2012

The beautiful game has been getting a bit of stick recently, with fans and players alike being portrayed as uncultured neanderthals. Well, they might be right on some aspects (a quick scan of certain players' Twitter accounts will confirm that), but on others they're certainly not - and there's no finer example of that than the terrace hymns which waft across the pitch every Saturday afternoon.

And this culture has been captured by Andrew Woods and Ben Evans, the designers at Tommy Sauce, who have taken lyrics from fans' anthems for fifty different teams and embodied them as works of literature, in the highly-popular style of a Penguin classic - all in team colours of course.

The images are available as A4 prints, and are available from Tommy Sauce's Etsy Shop - all 50 are in our gallery below. Pick one up, and next time you stumble in after a game and a few jars, just point at it and say you've merely been out sampling some culture.
