Swallows fly south every winter to avoid the bad weather and the EastEnders Christmas special. The great British & Irish Lions team on the other hand, heads to colder climates just as ours comes out of the deep freeze. If we had to choose between being able to fly and never seeing a winter or having cabbages for ears and being stamped on, we’d go bird every time.
