A picture may be worth a thousand words but in monetary terms it's worth ten thousand pounds. How do we know? Well, this latest artistic exchange rate comes courtesy of the Landscape Photographer of the Year awards, where Emmanuel Coupe was recently handed that exact amount for a stunning sunrise shot on the Isle of Skye.
Supported by Natural England and the English National Park Authorities, the awards bring to the fore the most talented of camera enthusiasts, and we have a gallery to showcase them.
A free exhibition of winning and commended entries will be held in the Lyttelton Foyer, National Theatre, London SE1 from December 5, 2009 until January 24, 2010.
A book featuring the entries, Landscape Photographer of the Year: Collection 03 (AA Publishing £25) will be published on October 31st.
